The Point App - Parkesburg 1.1.1

The POINT, established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2003, emerged from a collaborative initiative involving churches, community leaders, businesses, law enforcement, educational institutions, and the judicial system. Its primary objective is to address the needs of at-risk students in Western Chester County.

Since its inception, the organization has been guided by a dedicated staff and an extensive volunteer base that oversees a range of innovative, faith-based programs available after school, on weekends, and during summer breaks. In just ten years, The POINT's rapid expansion necessitated a move from its original 7,600 square foot facility to a more spacious 33,000 square foot converted grocery store complex. Through a vigorous capital campaign, The POINT has successfully eliminated its debt and now owns the 4.25-acre property along with the buildings on-site.

The POINT's overarching goals remain focused on providing essential support and resources to foster positive life experiences for youth. The organization emphasizes empowerment, establishing boundaries and expectations while promoting a commitment to learning. It aims to instill positive values, enhance social competencies, and support the development of a constructive identity for each student—all within a safe and supervised environment. Each program is meticulously designed to align with these foundational objectives.
